Contrary to its earlier claim citing Angeles City as among the cities with the highest crime and drug incidence, the PNP clarified that Angeles City is the second city with the lowest crime rate at 27.10 percent.It follows Davao City at 25.96 percent and is succeeded by Ormoc, Cotabato, and Puerto Princesa.Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said he was &quot;relieved&quot; with the correction, citing a reduction of crimes in the city over the past years.&quot;I am relieved that the PNP immediately corrected itself, because figures of the local police say otherwise,&quot; he said in a statement.Citing police reports, Pamintuan said all index crimes have been reduced to 324 cases in July 2018 from the 795 cases recorded in 2017.From July 2017 to July 2018, murder was down 22.22 percent while robbery cases were down 31.45 percent, he added.Drug-related cases and arrests also declined with 159 cases and 283 arrests from January to July this year compared with last year&#x27;s 322 cases and 517 arrests.The correction comes after the PNP last week announced erroneous crime statistics. The police force later clarified its announcement.PNP spokesperson Senior Supt.
