<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/news/09/02/20180902_serna.jpg"/></figure></div><p>MANILA - Former Cebu Governor Vicente &quot;Ting Ting&quot; De La Serna, 66, passed away due to lung cancer on Saturday, his family confirmed.</p><p>He was diagnosed with lung cancer last year and has been under medication and chemotherapy since, said JV De La Serna, a relative and confidant of the former official.</p><p>The ex-governor&#x27;s wake was held at his family&#x27;s house in Sto. Niño Village, Barangay Banilad Cebu City. He will be laid to rest on Sunday at the Cebu Memorial Park, in accordance to his wishes.</p><p>De La Serna was &quot;an honest and compassionate leader whose genuine concern for the people, especially the poor, we should all emulate,&quot; said Cebu Governor Junjun Davide in a statement.</p><p>De La Serna served as a governor of Cebu from 1992 to 1995.</p><div><strong>Report from Donna Lavares, ABS CBN News</strong></div>
