MANILA - Overseas Filipino workers (OFW) who were stranded at airports in Manila and Pampanga due to the onslaught of Typhoon Ompong may receive a P5,000 cash assistance, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Saturday.&quot;Overseas Filipino workers who were affected by flight cancellations due to typhoon Ompong can proceed to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and the Clark International Airport to receive the P5,000 financial assistance allotted for them,&quot; the DFA said in a statement.OFWs who wish to avail the assistance must personally go to DFA kiosks in the said airports and present the following requirements:<ul>	<li>airline ticket showing their original date of departure</li>	<li>reissued ticket showing new date of departure</li>	<li>Employment Contract</li>	<li>Overseas Employment Certificate</li></ul>DFA will have teams stationed in these airports until Sunday, 16 September 2018.Several flights were canceled since Friday as Ompong brought strong winds and heavy rains in Luzon.The storm barreled away from the country&#x27;s landmass before Saturday noon, and is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility early Sunday morning.<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/business/09/15/18/canceled-flights-due-to-ompong-sept-15-16-17">Canceled flights due to Ompong: Sept 15, 16, 17</a></li></ul>
