MANILA — A magnitude 4.4 earthquake rocked Cotabato on Sunday, just days after two powerful temblors struck the province last week.

The tremor happened at 2:05 p.m., 22 kilometers southeast of Tulunan town, where the epicenter of three magnitude 6 quakes hit last month that left at least 23 people dead.

The latest quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 12 kilometers, according to the Phivolcs. It was not expected to cause damage and aftershocks.
