MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte is set to participate in the 33rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits in Singapore this week.&quot;The 33rd ASEAN Summit in Singapore will be an opportunity for the Philippine government to join in discussions pertaining to the progress of the ASEAN Community blueprints and in bringing ASEAN closer to the realization of a people-centered ASEAN Community,&quot; Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement.Duterte will attend several events, including the opening ceremony on Tuesday.He is also expected to attend a working dinner for ASEAN leaders, hosted by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.The ASEAN leaders will also hold summits with leaders from dialogue partners on Wednesday.Dialogue partners include leaders of Australia, China, Republic of Korea, Russia, and Japan.Duterte is then expected to meet with leaders of India and United States on November 15.The Department of Foreign Affairs earlier said some 4 to 5 leaders have asked to meet Duterte on the sidelines of the regional meet.<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/11/09/18/duterte-to-meet-asean-world-leaders-in-singapore-next-week">Duterte to meet ASEAN, world leaders in Singapore next week</a></li></ul>Among the issues expected to be discussed in the Summit are tensions in the South China Sea, the denuclearization of North Korea, and global economy.
