Bienvenido Abante attends the House of Representatives quad committee on Dangerous Drugs, Public Order and Safety, Human Rights and Public Accounts holds its hearing at the Villa De Bacolor Convention Center in Bacolor Pampanga on August 16, 2024. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span>MANILA -- The Department of Justice said it will initiate preliminary investigation and case buildup once the House of Representatives Quad Committee refers its committee report to the department. </div><p>Asked for a comment on the statements of resource persons during the Quad Comm hearings on killings during the Duterte administration in connection with the war on drugs, DOJ Undersecretary Raul Vasquez said the department will act as soon as they receive the documents from the House. </p><p>“We will initiate the preliminary investigation and case build up once Congress refers its committee report together with the affidavits or when somebody files a complaint against those responsible. Here, it could be the police or private complainants. There must be an initiatory process,” Vasquez said.</p><style type="text/css" id="isPasted">
