Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) at the Manila Hotel on Wednesday. </div><p>With the theme &#x27;Charity: A National Focus&#x27;, the event also observed the first-ever National Day of Charity. </p><p>In his speech, he cited various programs of PCSO for the past nine decades including medical assistance program, medical transport vehicle donation pogram and institutional partnership program. </p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/10/30/marcos-jr-pcso-turn-over-90-ambulances-to-lgus-1810">Marcos Jr., PCSO turn over 90 ambulances to LGUs</a></div><p>The president also recognized the work of PCSO officials and employees for the past 90 years. </p><p>&quot;Tonight, as we celebrate this milestone, I call upon everyone at PCSO to remember the heart of what you do; continue to uphold integrity, benevolence, and excellence,&quot; Marcos said. </p><p>&quot;To all the officials and employees of PCSO, past and present and future, thank you for your dedication and for the countless hours that you have put in making this institution a pillar of hope,&quot; Marcos added. </p><p>Marcos Jr. also led the unveiling and presentation of PCSO commemorative stamps as well as awarding and recognition of institutional partners. </p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/10/1/pagpatay-sa-pcso-official-iimbestigahan-muli-ng-mga-pulis-1913">Pagpatay sa PCSO official iimbestigahan muli ng mga pulis</a></div><p>He also received a special award to recognize his support to PCSO and his Bagong Pilipinas brand of leadership, noting that it “promotes a sense of national pride and unity which encourages public participation and charitable activities”. </p><p>The award was presented to the president by PCSO General Manager Mel Robles and PCSO Chair Felix Reyes. </p><p>Meanwhile, PCSO General Manager Mel Robles in his speech highlighted the role of charity in national progress. </p><p>&quot;Charity works and initiatives have been elevated as the priority in our national agenda underscoring the vital role and generosity and social responsibility play in our governance and community-building efforts,&quot; Robles said.</p><div><br/></div><div><br/></div><div><br/></div>
