MANILA – The parents of slain race car driver Enzo Pastor on Friday appealed to authorities to arrest his widow Dalia Guerrero Pastor, after the Supreme Court revived the parricide case against her.

In a February decision made public on Thursday, the SC found probable cause and overturned the Court of Appeals ruling that junked the case against Dalia, who was accused of participating in her husband’s 2014 assassination.

The High Court also reinstated the arrest warrant and hold departure order against the widow.

Pastor’s parents Tom and Remy said they were not certain about Dalia’s whereabouts, but the last information they received was that she fled to Indonesia and later to Malaysia.

“This is the time for them to act para naman maibalik dito sa bansa natin si Dalia at humarap sa kaniyang kaso,” Remy said in an appeal to the justice and interior departments.

“Noon, 10 years ago, naka-escape siya. Sana po magamit ang the way that they did with Mayor Alice Guo, so that somehow, she can be brought back here in the Philippines,” she told TeleRadyo Serbisyo.

WHAT HAPPENED

Pastor was on his way to Pampanga with a mechanic when a man approached their vehicle and shot him at the intersection of Visayas Avenue and Congressional Avenue in Quezon City.

The prosecution charged Police Officer II Edgar Angel as the gunman and Domingo De Guzman III and Dalia as masterminds in the killing.

Dalia went to the CA to question the charges filed against her and the court ruled in her favor.

However, the Supreme Court found that there was sufficient evidence that identified Dalia as a co-conspirator in Enzo’s killing.

The court cited, among others, the testimony of gun-for-hires that Dalia and De Guzman tried to engage to kill Pastor.

It was also Dalia who supposedly handed a picture of Pastor to Alvin Nidua, one of the alleged guns-for-hire. According to Nidua and PO2 Angel, Dalia instructed them to gun down Pastor.

It was also Dalia who allegedly called Pastor for his exact location.

“Dalia’s acts, as stated above, show that she not only served as a strong motivation to carry out the plan, but she had an active hand in planning the ambush of Enzo,” the court said in the decision penned by Associate Justice Amy Lazaro-Javier.

The court also noted the statements of the househelp of the Pastor family on the alleged affair of Dalia and De Guzman.

“In the face of several claims involving multiple parties and in light of the atrocious offense resulting in the death of Enzo, the ends of justice are better served by giving the trial court an opportunity to fairly determine the truth through a full-blown trial on the merits,” the court said.

Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police said it will collaborate with other concerned law enforcement agencies to help locate and arrest Dalia.

"We will coordinate with other law enforcement agencies para madakip itong sinasabing may kinalaman dito sa kaso na ito," said PNP PIO acting chief and spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo.

"We have to find out kung sino yung nag imbestiga dito at siguro sa susunod we can provide you more updates on this case because may bagong kautusan yung SC we will have to again review itong mga kaso relating dito sa pagkapatay ni Enzo Pastorll." — With reports from Adrian Ayalin and Raya Capulong, ABS-CBN News
