<p>(UPDATED) Former President Rodrigo Duterte has decided to run again for a government post.</p><p>This time, he wants to return as mayor of Davao City, a post he held for several years before becoming Philippine president in 2016.</p><div><span id="isPasted">Duterte also confirmed he will run possibly in tandem with his son, incumbent mayor Sebastian Duterte. </span></div><div><span>Duterte said that he cannot pursue a national campaign due to his age, amid calls for him to run for senator in the 2025 midterm elections. </span></div><p>His daughter, Vice President Sara Duterte, earlier said that the elder Duterte together with Sebastian and Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte will run for seats in the Senate.</p><p>But Duterte himself denied this, saying that Sara was only joking.</p><p>&quot;Anong gagawin namin sa Senate...Anong gagawin namin doon?&quot; he said.</p><p>He also claimed he is &quot;not inclined&quot; to return to politics, saying that he no longer has the political capital, nor the funds,  to reenter the political arena after his term ended in 2022.</p><p>&quot;Hindi na ako babalik ng politika. Tapos na po ako. Laos na ako. Wala na akong panggastos, wala na lahat.
