<p>MANILA — The death toll in the massive landslide that hit a mining village in Maco, Davao de Oro jumped to 90 on Thursday, according to the latest report of the provincial government.</p><p>The same report noted that 37 people remained missing following the landslide that hit the gold-mining village of Masara on Feb. 6.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/2/9/child-dug-out-from-rubble-2-days-after-davao-de-oro-landslide-926" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">&#x27;Miracle&#x27; rescue nearly 60 hours after Davao De Oro landslide</a></div><p>Nine victims were laid to rest at the Mawab Public Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon, while several unidentified bodies were also buried in a mass grave as recommended by the municipal health office for health and sanitation purposes.</p><p>Meanwhile, search and retrieval operations remain dangerous due to ground movement and landslide.</p><p>APEX Mining incident commander Ferdinand Dobli said rescuers paused operations on Tuesday afternoon due to a ground movement.</p><p>&quot;Oriented talaga sila kung saan ang posible nilang takbuhan. Mga safe refuge, higher ground for responders na mag-react in case na merong ground movements,&quot; he said.</p><div><strong>SURVIVORS MOVING TO TENT CITY<br/></strong></div><p>Evacuees displaced by the landslide will be transferred to a tent city from the schools to avoid further disruption of classes.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/2/10/watch-ground-zero-of-masara-landslide-2003" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">WATCH: Ground zero of Masara landslide</a></div><p>Some 1,300 families are still staying in 10 evacuation centers in neighboring town Mawab.</p><p>The local government is searching for suitable relocation sites for displaced Masara residents.</p><p>A lot owned by the church in Elizalde village is just one of the areas being considered to host a tent city for evacuees.</p><p>Davao de Oro governor Dorothy Gonzaga said the tent city would be safe. The local government has received tents as donations from non-government organizations.</p><p>After the 2008 Masara landslide, some residents were already provided with a housing program in Kinuban village.
