MANILA - Brushing aside persistent rumors on his health and his post, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said in a press conference Monday that he has been working from home and ably leading his department.

Remulla has not been physically present at the Department of Justice for the past month but he stressed that he is constantly in touch with his undersecretaries, assistant secretaries and directors.

“I’m okay, I’m actually okay, alam niyo naman nagka-bypass ako dati, I just had complications that I am going through up to now with my immune system, but I’m okay,” Remulla said.

Remulla assured the public that he is still on top of his department as he recovers from his heart bypass operation last year.

“I am on the way to complete recovery which will take some time, I am 62 years [old] and may depreciation na rin ang katawan natin, but I am able to work from home effectively,” Remulla said.

Remulla also addressed rumors that he will be replaced as justice secretary.

“Alam mo naman society natin, mahilig tayong mag-ano, maraming nangangarap, kasama sa buhay yan eh, hindi naman bawal mangarap,” Remulla said.
