Police officers charged in the death of Jerhode "Jemboy" Balatazar emerge from the Navotas Regional Trial Court after the promulgation of their case on February 27, 2024. Police Staff Sergeant Gerry Maliban was found guilty of homicide, while four others—PEMS Roberto Balais, PSSG Nikko Esquilon, PCpl Edmard Jade Blanco, and Patrolman Benedict Mangada—were found guilty of illegal discharge of firearms. PSSG Antonio Bugayong was acquitted of the crime.
