MANILA — The Philippine National Police is ready to revoke the gun permits of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, PNP spokesperson Police Col. Jean Fajardo said on Wednesday.
Fajardo said the recommendation of the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) to revoke and cancel Quiboloy's registration and license to own and possess firearms (LTOPF) is already on the table of PNP chief PGen. Rommel Francisco Marbil.
“I would like to confirm na nasa opisina na po ng ating chief PNP yung papel na isinumite ng FEO na ang recommendation nga is for the revocation and cancellation ng LTOPF and firearms registration ng dalawang akusado dito sa mga kasong isinampa laban kina pastor Quiboloy,” Fajardo said.
Once the chief PNP signs the said recommendation, Fajardo said, all 19 firearms of Quiboloy would be considered loose firearms.
According to Fajardo, those individuals related to Quiboloy or anybody who has prior knowledge of the existence of his firearms are obliged to surrender these firearms to the nearest FEO.
"At kung wala kang prior knowledge pero you came into possession of these revoked firearms ay meron din po siyang 6 months na i-surrender yung baril otherwise ay maari po siyang makasuhan for possession of illegal firearms,” according to Fajardo.
(And if they don't have prior knowledge but still came into possession of these revoked firearms, they are given 6 months to surrender these guns otherwise they can be charged with illegal possession of firearms.)
Sen. Risa Hontiveros earlier castigated the PNP for not immediately canceling Quiboloy's gun permits, after the controversial pastor was given 3 pending arrest warrants from the Senate and 2 other local courts.
