He was 82 years old.</p><p>The NBI said Galanida complained of several physical ailments until the court granted his appeal for hospital arrest last week, and was transferred to a medical facility in Paranaque City.</p><p>He died from several medical complications and old age.</p><p>Galanida was accused of orchestrating several illegal activities in SBSI according to former members and victims, which include human trafficking, forced marriages, and rape, among others. </p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/10/09/23/hold-departure-order-sought-vs-socorro-cult-leaders">READ: Precautionary hold departure order sought vs. Socorro &#x27;cult&#x27; leaders</a></div><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/10/04/23/no-movement-of-sbsi-members-while-probe-is-ongoing-denr">READ: &#x27;No movement&#x27; of SBSI members while investigation is ongoing: DENR</a></div><p>In a privilege speech in September 2023, Sen.
