It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gusts of up to 70 kph. It is unlikely to directly affect the country within the next three days, but might enhance the southwest monsoon that may bring moderate to heavy rains over the western portion of Luzon.PAGASA said Butchoy is forecast to move generally west northwestward until Sunday. It may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next 12 hours.Meanwhile, Carina was last sighted 780 km east of Virac, Catanduanes as of 10 p.m.It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center, gusts of up to 55 kph, with strong winds extending outwards up to 150 km from the center.It is moving west northwestward at 20 kph.PAGASA expects Carina to move generally northwestward until Sunday then decelerate while turning north northwestward on Monday.Carina will generally have a mainly offshore path over the next five days and remain far from the Philippine landmass.However, PAGASA said the tropical cyclone will likely intensify further at a faster rate, eventually reaching typhoon category on Tuesday.There is no storm signal raised yet, related to both tropical depressions, as of Friday night.
