MANILA – Heavy rains due to the habagat and tropical storm Enteng have left some roads with limited access on Tuesday, the Department of Public Works and Highways said.

As of 12 noon, a road section in Central Luzon remained closed while two roads in Metro Manila and Bicol Region had limited access due to flooding.

DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan said that a portion of Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road in Barangay Labi, Bongabon, Nueva Ecija was still closed to traffic.

Motorists may take Rizal - Pantabangan Road as an alternative route until flooding along the road section subsides.

Meanwhile, only heavy vehicles may take the Sumulong Highway fronting S&R in Marikina City, and the EPZA By-Pass (Baraso Country Road) in Barangay Baseco, Mariveles, Bataan as both are still flooded.

The DPWH has mobilized its Disaster and Incident Management Teams (DIMT) across the affected Regional and District Engineering Offices, prepositioning 1,731 pieces of equipment and 7,105 personnel.

The DPWH Quick Response Teams have installed warning signs and traffic devices along the affected road sections, the agency added.

It said 9 road sections have been cleared and reopened by the DPWH since Monday in the Cordilleras, Cagayn Valley, Calabarzon, Bicol, and Eastern Visayas.

Enteng was last spotted  100 kilometers west northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, PAGASA said in its 11 a.m. bulletin.

It said Enteng intensified over the waters off Ilocos Norte, packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour and up to 105 kph gusts.

Enteng is set to leave the Philippine area of responsibility on Wednesday.
