<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/173433390355820230815-psa-fiba-sbp-forum-MD-8.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) President Al Panlilio during the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Special Special Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum in Pasig City on August 15, 2023. <em>Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA -- Alfredo &quot;Al&quot; Panlilio is the newest president of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP).</p><p>In a statement, one of the country&#x27;s largest business groups said Panlilio&#x27;s term as the 77th MAP president begins in 2025. </p><p>Panlilio was president and chief executive officer of PLDT from 2021 until 2023, when he retired for <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2024/12/16/calamity-loans-cabin-crew-jobs-and-e-wallet-issues-the-most-read-business-stories-of-2024-1306" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">health reasons</a>. The company at that time noted that it was recognized both locally and abroad for pioneering brand, corporate social responsibility, cybersecurity, network and sustainability initiatives under Panlilio&#x27;s leadership.</p><p>He is now chairman of Maya Bank, one of the Manuel V. Pangilinan (MVP) group&#x27;s fintech arms.</p><p>Panlilio first joined PLDT in 2019 as its <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/business/05/02/19/pldt-names-new-chief-revenue-officer" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">chief revenue officer</a>. Before this, he was head of customer retail services and corporate communications at Meralco, another MVP-led company.</p><p>In Meralco, he was chair of units like Radius Telecoms, e-Meralco Ventures, Powersource First Bulacan Solar, and Pure Meridian Hydropower Corp.</p><p>Panlilio is also president of the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/12/07/21/al-panlilio-re-elected-as-sbp-president" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas</a> (SBP), and is a member of the FIBA Central Board. He also sits as the first vice president of the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/11/7/panlilio-wants-to-sustain-gains-from-tokyo-paris-olympics-1757" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Philippine Olympic Committee</a>. </p><p>Padilla succeeds Rene Almendras of Ayala Corporation as the MAP president. Almendras, however, will remain on the group&#x27;s board, along with Atty. Noel Bonoan of KPMG R. G. Manabat &amp; Co., Rex Drilon of Center for Excellence in Governance, and Maan Hontiveros of CEO Advisors.</p><p>Joining Panlilio in the MAP&#x27;s Board of Governors, meanwhile, are Atty.
