<p>MANILA -- The speed limit on the NAIA Expressway and the straight sections of Skyway Stage 3 will be increased to 80 kilometers per hour (kph) starting January 15, SMC Infrastructure said Monday.</p><p>In a statement, NAIA said this move will make travel faster and more convenient for everyone.</p><p>“We have carefully studied this to make sure that it benefits motorists while prioritizing safety,” SMC chairman Ramon Ang said.</p><p>“This also complements the ongoing reconfiguration of exit plazas at NAIAx, which should allow for less congestion and help improve motorists’ experience on the expressway,&quot; he added.</p><p>He stressed, however, that the 60 kph speed limit will continue to be enforced for all motorists on curved sections of both expressways.</p><p>Ang noted that right-of-way issues during the construction of NAIAx and Skyway Stage 3 forced the redesign of some sections and access ramps because of very limited space.
