Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News</span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco on Thursday confirmed that the recent earthquakes have significantly affected the country’s tourism sector, particularly in Cebu and Davao.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/10/1/cebu-quake-likely-triggered-by-fault-that-had-not-produced-powerful-tremor-in-past-400-years-1012">Cebu quake likely triggered by fault that had not produced powerful tremor in past 400 years</a></div><p>According to Frasco, more than 2,000 tourism workers were affected in Cebu, and over 140 heritage and tourism sites were damaged.</p><p>She also clarified that the earthquake primarily affected the northern areas, including Bogo, Medellin, San Remigio, Daanbantayan, and nearby municipalities.</p><p>&quot;Yung turismo sa Cebu ay patuloy pa rin in the Central and Southern parts.
