MANILA -- The Department of Agriculture and the Department of Trade and Industry will file separate cases against individuals or companies allegedly linked to corruption-tainted infrastructure projects.During the joint price monitoring activity in Makati, both Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. and Trade Secretary Cristina Roque said they will bring the matter to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) and possibly to the courts.The DTI had earlier filed complaints against eight contractor-licensees for their alleged involvement in anomalous flood control projects. The complaints were filed before the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board- Monitoring and Enforcement Division (PCAB-MED). Complaints will also be filed against another set of eight contractors soon.“Iba-ibang issues nila. We just forwarded it to the PCAB board, and after that sila mag-dedetermine and after that we give to ICI and to the Ombudsman. Sila magde-determine ano yung kaso nila,” she said.Tiu Laurel, meanwhile, said they will file cases against contractors in alleged anomalous farm-to-market road projects.  He said they are looking at at least five projects which were either not completed or not found at all.  These projects, which were supposed to be built in 2021, are in Davao Occidental and Zamboanga City and involve a total of four contractors.“Out of the 1,000 sites na nakita, tatlo ang I can say nawawala… Ako mismo pumunta sa Davao Occidental. May isang site doon marked as completed, pero ngayon lang binubuhusan, hinahabol na tapusin,” he added.Tiu Laurel said they have monitored around 1,000 farm-to-market road sites and will need to inspect 4,000 more sites. He is also preparing for the handling of farm-to-market road projects from the Department of Public Works and Highways to the Department of Agriculture, starting possibly next year.
