MANILA — The Philippines will use “smart technology and artificial intelligence” to curb corruption and leakages in public projects, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Thursday.Aside from filing cases against individuals involved in the corruption scheme, the government is also reforming its processes to tighten regulation of projects from bidding to post-monitoring, the President said. “Magpapatupad din tayo ng systematic na reporma para mapabuti ang transparency ang security ng ating datos ang pakikilahok ng ating mga mamamayan sa mga proyekto,” he told Palace reporters.“Mayroon tayong nakita na bagong smart technology na ang ginagamit ay AI… ‘Yung AI ang tinitingnan niya ay yung proseso ng kontrata at kapag nakita niya na hindi tama ang takbo ng proseso ng kontrata, magflaflag yan,” he said.“Gagamitin natin lahat ng paraan na nasa atin pati AI at smart technology na lalabas… para tingnan kung ano ba talaga ang standard, kung maganda ang pagkakaayos,” he said.The Malacañang’s “Sumbong sa Pangulo” website — where the public can send reports about anomalous flood control projects — received over 20,000 reports between August 11 and November 10, Marcos said.The administration is processing these reports and building cases thoroughly, he said.“Titiyakin natin na ang bawat isasampang kaso ay may sapat na ebidensya,” Marcos said.“Ang pinakamasamang resulta: ‘Yung alam natin na guilty pero nakalusot,” he said.“Pananagutin natin lahat ng may kasalanan… Tinitiyak natin na ang kanilang ninakaw na pondo ay maibabalik sa pamahalaan upang maibalik sa pamahalaan ang mga pera na yan.”The government is looking at the restitution of at least P18.16 billion from the frozen assets and tax deficiencies of several individuals tagged in the corruption mess.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/12/ici-zeroes-in-on-80-flood-control-projects-linked-to-firms-named-by-marcos-1606" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">ICI zeroes in on 80 flood control projects linked to firms named by Marcos</a></div>
