Jeepney drivers and operators blast the consecutive oil price hikes causing increase in prices of consumer goods and services. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News </em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Motorists should gear up for another oil price hike next week, the Department of Energy said Friday, Nov. 14.</p><p>Based on the four-day trade monitoring of the Mean of Platts Singapore, DOE Oil Industry Management Bureau Assistant Director Rodela Romero said the following increases may be seen next week, excluding oil companies’ business costs:</p><p>Gasoline – P0.60 per liter</p><p>Diesel – P0.75 per liter</p><p>Kerosene – P1.00 per liter</p><p>The numbers have included the adjustments made after the Philippine peso hit a historic low of P59.17 to the US dollar on Wednesday, said the DOE official.</p><p>Romero said the United States&#x27; sanctions on Russian oil companies after failed peace efforts between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin continue to affect the local oil market.  </p><p>The US’s <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2025/11/13/record-breaking-us-shutdown-ends-as-political-fallout-begins-1013">end </a>of its longest government shutdown in history on Wednesday also prompted an increase in its demand for oil, causing the prices to go up.</p><p>“Ibig sabihin, natapos na yung pagtigil ng US sa mga essential operation nila so tataas na ulit yung demand nila,” said Romero.</p><p>Supply remains higher than demand for oil in the world market. </p><p>When asked if increases may be reversed on the last day of trade monitoring, Romero said, “Sana bumaba ngayon, mabawasan man lang.
