Photo from DBM/Facebook</div>MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has sworn in Rolando Toledo as acting Budget secretary, weeks after his predecessor, Amenah Pangandaman, stepped down from her post after being dragged into alleged budget insertionsPhotos shared by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) showed Toledo taking the oath before Marcos in Malacanang on Tuesday, December 9.According to the DBM, Toledo will pivot on rebuilding trust in government and will continue the reforms promoting fiscal transparency and citizen participation.In the statement, he assured the public that every peso in the national budget would be used for tangible results, most especially on the creation of jobs, classrooms, and the delivery of medicines. “To the Filipinos we serve, we give our firm assurance that every peso of the national budget will be translated into real, felt results… In uncertain times, we commit to moving faster and fairer so that public resources reach those who need them most,” he added.His agency described Toledo as a “champion of Open Government,” citing his role in pushing for transparency, accountability, and citizen participation through the Philippine Open Government Partnership, where he was head of the Secretariat.Toledo started his career in DBM in 1987 as an accounts analyst under its National Accounting Office.He is a Certified Public Accountant and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of the East in 1984. He completed his advanced studies in Development Economics at the UP School of Economics.Last year, Toledo got his Master&#x27;s in National Security Administration from the National Defense College of the Philippines.
