<p>MANILA -- More than 2.2 million Filipinos passed through ports during Holy Week, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) said on Monday.</p><p>In a statement, the PPA said this is 37.14 percent higher than the 1,670,984 seen in the same period in 2024.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/4/18/thousands-travel-to-ph-ports-on-good-friday-1129" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Thousands travel to PH ports on Good Friday</a></div><p>Most of the passengers passed through Batangas, Panay/Guimaras, Mindoro, Negros Oriental/Siquijor, and Bohol.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/4/14/ph-coast-guard-deploys-17-000-personnel-to-secure-holy-week-travel-1632" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">PH Coast Guard deploys 17,000 personnel to secure Holy Week travel</a></div><p>PPA General Manager Jay Santiago said this is probably because of Holy Week coinciding with the summer vacation of students, and the effective promotions of Philippine local tourist destinations.</p><p>The PPA also said it will soon roll out the Electronic Terminal Management System (ETMS), which will give tickets to passengers electronically.</p><p>&quot;Within the next few months basta within this year, maro-rollout na ‘yan.
