The Metro Rail Transit line 3 is now on heightened security alert in preparation for the coming 2025 midterm elections, the Department of Transportation said on Friday, May 9.

The transportation department expects a flood of passengers as election day comes.

It said police help desks have been stationed.

K-9 units and personnel from the Philippine Coast Guard are also present in case of bomb-related threats.

DOTr MRT-3 said there are enough trains operating, reaching 19 train sets during peak hours.

The 2025 midterm elections will take place on Monday, May 12, beginning at 5 a.m. for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women, and 7 a.m. for others. The voting closes at 7 p.m.
