MANILA – Third telco DITO Telecommunity on Monday reiterated that it complies with Philippine laws amid allegations that it illegally employs foreign nationals.DITO said that on May 29, immigration officers visited its offices, after which 39 foreign nationals affiliated with DITO’s accredited business partners were brought to the Bureau of Immigration for further verification.&quot;These individuals are bona fide employees of our business partners, who are visiting DITO&#x27;s office to render continuing technical support services to DITO and its Stand Alone 5G network pursuant to valid and existing service agreements with DITO,&quot; the company said.The telco denied that the foreign nationals were DITO employees, further claiming that their presence was strictly for the purpose of fulfilling contractually agreed technical and support obligations. It added that this was an ordinary practice in infrastructure projects of this scale.&quot;We are confident that once the appropriate proceedings are completed, the Bureau of Immigration’s records will reflect that the individuals in question possess the required visas, and work permits to lawfully work in the Philippines,&quot; DITO said.The country&#x27;s third largest telco reiterated that it is committed to full compliance with Philippine laws and continues to work closely with all relevant government agencies on this matter.Last month, the Department of Information and Communications Technology said around 400 Chinese nationals were working for DITO sans working visas.The company however has denied these claims and said that these issues were already addressed in its franchise renewal hearings.<div><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/g4kDiB5CF3A?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe> </div>
