LRT-2 failed to begin trips on time after a train stalled in the Katipunan area and had to be hauled. Partial operations started at 6 a.m. instead of the scheduled 5 a.m. opening.

Passengers were allowed to enter Araneta-Cubao Station at around 6:45 a.m., as limited operations began on the Recto-Cubao segment.
