PAG-IBIG says to keep low loan rates through 2025

MANILA – Filipinos aspiring to own a home may continue to benefit from affordable housing loans, as the PAG-IBIG Fund announced it will maintain its low interest rates on home financing until the end of 2025.The move is part of the government’s ongoing initiative to make homeownership more accessible, especially for minimum-wage earners and low-income families, the state-backed mortgage lender said.“We are keeping our housing loan interest rates low to help more Filipino workers achieve their dream of homeownership,” said Secretary Jose Ramon P. Aliling, Chairperson of the PAG-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees and head of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).Aliling said the decision supports the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.PAG-IBIG Fund currently offers 5.75 percent annual interest for a one-year repricing period and 6.25 percent for a three-year repricing period. Qualified low-income members may purchase socialized housing units for just 3 percent annual interest. Members may also opt for loan terms of up to 30 years, helping reduce monthly amortizations and easing the financial burden for working-class families.PAG-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta said the agency is able to sustain financing for its members&#x27; needs thanks to prudent fiscal management, strong collections, and a high-performing loan portfolio.The state-backed home mortgage firm earlier announced releasing P30.22 billion in home loans in the first three months of 2025, assisting over 20,000 members nationwide. As of March 31, Pag-IBIG said its total assets exceeded P1.1 trillion.
