NAIA terminal fees are going up next month. Here's why.

Terminal fees at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport are set to go up next month, the first terminal fee increase in 20 years.The fee will go up to P950 from P550 for departing international flights  while the domestic flight terminal fee almost doubles to P390 from P200 per passenger.Manila International Airport Authority General Manager Eric Ines said the current P550 terminal fee is the lowest in the region and needs to be adjusted.“Kailangan nang itaas ‘yan kasi ‘yung ibang parte n’yan mapupunta sa Office of Transport Security para sa mga equipment nila, pang-maintain din ng mga kakailanganin nila,” he said in a DZMM interview.The increase in fees will also fund renovations in Terminals 1 and 3 plus installation of e-gates by December.
