MANILA — Bank lending and domestic liquidity climbed in November 2025, according to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).BSP said that, based on preliminary data, lending by universal and commercial banks grew by 10.3 percent year-on-year.Outstanding loans to residents grew at a slower pace of 10.7 percent in November, slightly slower than the 10.9 percent in October. Meanwhile, outstanding loans to non-residents fell by 4.5 percent after shrinking by 11.1 percent the month before.Consumer loans to residents—which include credit card, motor vehicle, and general-purpose salary loans—grew by a slower 22.9 percent from the 23.1 percent in the previous month.Loans to businesses, meanwhile, went up by 9 percent in November. Most of the loans went to businesses in real estate (9 percent); electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (26.6 percent); wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (11.6 percent); financial and insurance activities (3.5 percent); information and communication (7 percent); and transportation and storage (12.7 percent).Domestic liquidity (M3) expanded by a slower 7.6 percent year-on-year to about P19.4 trillion in November. It was at  8.3 percent in October.The BSP said it will continue to ensure that domestic liquidity conditions remain consistent with monetary policy. The BSP in December cut its benchmark rate further by 25 basis points to bring the target overnight reverse repurchase rate to <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/11/6/bank-lending-domestic-liquidity-up-again-in-september-1342" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">4.5 percent</a>.<div> </div>.
