<div> </div>MANILA – Fast-food giant Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) is acquiring South Korea’s leading hot pot chain, Shabu All Day, for approximately $87 million, the company announced on Friday, as the homegrown global food firm makes a push into the &quot;communal dining&quot; market.The deal, executed through Jollibee’s subsidiary Jolli-K, sees the Manila-based group take a 70 percent stake in All Day Fresh Co., Ltd. Private equity firm Elevation Equity Partners Korea will hold the remaining 30 percent.Shabu All Day, headquartered in Seoul, operates 169 outlets across South Korea. It is the country’s top hot pot brand by store count, generating annual system-wide sales of $285 million. The chain is known for its &quot;all-you-can-eat&quot; format, featuring premium beef and an extensive dessert selection.Jollibee Chairman Tony Tan Caktiong said the acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy of buying high-growth, profitable brands.&quot;With Compose Coffee and now Shabu All Day, Jollibee Group continues to demonstrate its strengthened ability to acquire high-quality, profitable businesses that align squarely with our strategic pillars and deliver meaningful long-term value to our shareholders,&quot; Tan Caktiong said.The move comes as the global hot pot segment is projected to reach $90 billion by 2029, according to Euromonitor. Jollibee expects the acquisition to boost its global earnings (EBIT) by 8 percent in 2026, increasing the contribution of its international business to nearly half of total revenues.Elevation’s Managing Partner Gordon Cho said the partnership would leverage Jollibee’s &quot;global scale and brand-building excellence&quot; to accelerate the chain&#x27;s growth.Jollibee, famous for its signature fried chicken, has been aggressively expanding its global footprint. This latest deal follows its 2024 acquisition of South Korea’s Compose Coffee, signaling a deepening commitment to the Korean market and the broader Chinese cuisine segment.
