<p>MANILA — Motorists can look forward to a bigger rollback in pump prices next week, the Department of Energy said Sunday.</p><p>Diesel prices are expected to drop by P20.89 per liter, kerosene by P8.50/L, and gasoline by P4.43/L, according to DOE projections.</p><p>This is significantly higher than the single-digit decreases in a projection on Saturday.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/4/7/fuel-prices-double-since-end-of-february-1700">Fuel prices more than double since end of February<br/></a></div><p>Fuel prices more than doubled since February, when the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran during negotations on its nuclear program.</p><p>Iran retaliated with air strikes on countries around the Persian Gulf that host US troops and bases and restricted movement through the Strait of Hormuz, where oil from the Middle East sails through.</p><p>A two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran have raised prospects of a cessation of hostilities and a more stable fuel supply. </p><p>US Vice President JD Vance said Sunday that talks with Iran hosted by Pakistan have failed to reach a deal in the conflict. </p><div><em>This is a developing story</em></div>
