MANILA – The Department of Energy announced Monday that 178 million liters of diesel have arrived to buffer the country&#x27;s fuel supply amid Middle East volatility.The DOE said the arrival of the final cargo marks the completion of a four-shipment procurement program under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Executive Order No. 110. The directive was issued to safeguard the domestic economy against heightened geopolitical uncertainty and fluctuating global oil prices.Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said the successful delivery, managed through the state-owned Philippine National Oil Company-Exploration Corporation (PNOC-EC), underscores the administration&#x27;s &quot;resolve&quot; to maintain market stability.“The arrival of all four diesel shipments shows that the government is acting with urgency to protect the country’s fuel supply,” Garin said in a statement. “As the Middle East conflict continues, our priority is to ensure that the Philippines remains prepared, adequately supplied, and able to respond swiftly to developments.”The phased deliveries were distributed across strategic hubs in Batangas, Subic and Davao to ensure national coverage.The DOE said that these reserves are critical for the &quot;uninterrupted operation&quot; of the nation’s transport, logistics, and agricultural sectors, which are highly sensitive to supply shocks.While the new inventory provides a significant cushion, the department stated it would continue to monitor global markets closely to prevent supply bottlenecks.
