Sherwin <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/4/1/senator-pushes-for-immediate-fuel-rationing-1505">Gatchalian proposed fuel rationing</a> to conserve energy stocks amid global price hikes because of the ongoing US-Israeli war with Iran.</p><p>Gatchalian, who chairs a Senate panel tasked to study the government&#x27;s response to the Middle East war, noted that some countries already resorted to fuel rationing and that some private companies are open to the proposal.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/4/6/opec-hikes-oil-production-quotas-issues-warning-1002">OPEC+ hikes oil production quotas, issues warning</a></div><p>Alberto Dalusung III, energy transition adviser at the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities, told ANC on Monday that fuel rationing could be effective, noting that it was done in the country during the 1970 energy crisis.</p><p>&quot;Noong araw may fuel rationing.
