<p>MANILA — IKEA Philippines vowed to cut prices Thursday as its Pasay store was named ‘Store of the Year 2025’ by the global furniture giant.</p><p>IKEA Philippines Country Retail Manager Ricardo Pinheiro admitted that the global crisis is affecting the company too, which is why they will continue to reduce prices for the Filipino market.</p><p>“With the energy crisis, with the dramatic Filipino peso loss of value, putting big pressure [on] the company and in our result,” Pinheiro said.</p><p>“In the last months, we did the second round of price decreases and I can also tell you in the next months, we will do another round of price decreases,&quot; he said.</p><p>IKEA already reduced the prices of nearly a thousand items last year, and more items will have their prices cut this year. This, as global uncertainties remain. The furniture retailer is banking on the Filipinos’ love for homes and kitchens, and is planning on offering more promos and discounts in the coming months.</p><p>The IKEA store in Pasay, the world’s biggest IKEA branch, beat 600 other IKEA branches globally as the ‘Store of the Year 2025.’</p><p>IKEA Philippines held a special ceremony to mark the new award for the Philippine branch. Celebrities who are also winners in their fields joined the celebration, including Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz, Michelin-starred chef Josh Boutwood, and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/10/23/ikea-opens-quezon-city-shop-eyes-1-million-customers-1702" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">IKEA opens Quezon City shop; eyes 1 million customers</a></div><p>Store Manager Daniel Rivero said they had to undergo a review from the global headquarters on very strict criteria, such as sales, sustainability efforts, understanding of the local market, and many more. He is happy that the Philippine branch passed and topped the review.</p><p>“How we adapt this to the Filipino market.
