MANILA -- GCash parent firm has moved to file an application for listing at the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE). In a statement, Mynt said its board of directors has authorized the company’s filing of a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and a listing application with the PSE in connection with a potential initial public offering (IPO).The offer will be equivalent to 12 percent of Mynt’s total outstanding capital stock post-IPO, with each common share having a par value of P0.03 per common share.“Over the past decade, Mynt has evolved from an e-wallet operator into the Philippines’ number one finance superapp and largest cashless ecosystem,” said its president and chief executive officer Martha Sazon.“The authorization of our Board and shareholders allows us to work toward a potential public listing as the next step in Mynt’s growth journey,&quot; she said.GCash, which started as an SMS-based local money remittance service in 2004, has since grown into a fintech giant, helping businesses and customers with payments and even providing lending services. It also has savings and investment services. GCash saw its valuation double to <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/business/2024/8/2/ayala-ups-stake-in-gcash-parent-firm-1128" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">$5 billion</a> in 2024 after fresh investments from Ayala Corp. and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.Two companies have delisted from the PSE in the last 3 years--<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/business/08/08/23/mpic-shareholders-approve-delisting" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Metro Pacific Investment Corporation</a> and <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/7/17/8990-holdings-moves-to-delist-from-pse-1259" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">8990 Holdings</a>.Another two companies have so far delisted from the PSE this year: <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/3/27/robinsons-retail-to-exit-philippine-stock-exchange-1257" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Robinsons Retail</a> and <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/6/2/merrymart-to-delist-from-philippine-stock-exchange-1859" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">MerryMart</a>.In March 2025, the PSE cut the minimum public float requirement for IPOs from 20 percent to 15 percent, in the hopes that more companies will go public. Officials considered 2024 a tepid listing year, with only 3 new companies--OceanaGold Philippines, NexGen Energy, and Citicore Renewable Energy-- being listed on the PSE.But in 2025, only two companies debuted on the Philippine Stock Exchange: <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/11/10/maynilad-ipo-ignites-massive-water-security-push-expansion-and-leak-loss-crackdown-1904" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Maynilad</a> and Cebu-based Top Line Business Development Corporation. Resort developer <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/7/18/sec-clears-hann-holdings-initial-public-offering-1629" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hann Holdings</a>, meanwhile, has yet to debut on the state bourse despite getting SEC clearance in July 2025. In late 2025, Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Aguda described GCash as <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/10/30/dict-chief-aguda-wants-tech-companies-to-list-on-philippine-stock-exchange-1737" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">ripe for an IPO</a>, as he stressed that he wants more companies to list on the state bourse.
