<p>MANILA -- Water interruptions are scheduled in parts of Metro Manila and Cavite from June 23 to 30, Maynilad said in a statement.</p><p>The water distributor said interruptions will take place from 10 p.m. to 6 p.m. for urgent network maintenance and &quot;system optimization activities.&quot;</p><div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FMayniladWater%2Fposts%2Fpfbid02MQResEAiLh9n7wZushDzge8d4QZ3tgZkmQRhNaXLjDvZVZxseqQVh9aLhdbByne9l&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500" width="500" height="704" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>Earlier this year, Maynilad was fined P54.3 million for &quot;prolonged and recurring&quot; water shortages that left over 165,000 customers in the capital&#x27;s southern fringes without water.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/4/20/maynilad-gets-fined-over-service-disruptions-2158" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Maynilad gets fined over service disruptions</a></div><p>The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office (MWSS RO) said its investigation into service failures during March 2026 revealed Maynilad breached its obligation to provide a 24-hour supply at a minimum pressure to residents in parts of Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, and neighboring Cavite province.</p><p>Under the penalty, Maynilad must provide a rebate of P327.96 per affected connection, which will be reflected in customers’ water bills by May.</p><p>Maynilad, which services the &quot;West Zone&quot; of Metro Manila, blamed the service disruptions on deteriorating raw water quality in Laguna Lake, the primary source for the area.
