Pag-IBIG posts double-digit housing loan growth in first half of 2026

MANILA – Pag-IBIG Fund reported double-digit growth in home loan releases during the first half of 2026, driven by a sharp rise in socialized housing financing for low-income earners, officials said.Total home loan releases grew 15 percent year-on-year to P69.19 billion from P60.25 billion in the same period last year, covering 43,051 housing units.Socialized home loans targeting minimum-wage and low-income members recorded a 118 percent surge to P6.7 billion, while the number of socialized units financed jumped 132 percent to 6,601. Socialized housing now accounts for 15 percent of all units funded by the agency.Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the gains demonstrate the reach of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.&#x27;s flagship &quot;Expanded 4PH&quot; housing initiative.&quot;Our housing figures for the first half of the year reflect not just growth, but growth that reaches those who need it most,&quot; Aliling said.To sustain momentum, Pag-IBIG is maintaining a subsidized three percent interest rate for eligible socialized housing borrowers. The agency has also introduced promotional rates of 4.5 percent and 5.75 percent for low- to medium-cost housing and raised its maximum loan ceiling to 10 million pesos to widen housing options.Pag-IBIG Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta noted that subsidized financing allows low-income families to make monthly payments lower than rental costs.&quot;This means more Filipino families are no longer just dreaming of a home, but are now able to call one their own,&quot; Acosta said.
