MANILA — SM Prime Holdings, Inc. is positioning Cebu as a major live entertainment hub in the central Philippines, slating over 20 large-scale events at the new SM Seaside Cebu Arena in 2026.The company said the lineup will feature local and international artists, sporting events, and family shows, offering several acts their first major venue in the Visayas region.“Our goal is to help Cebu capture a larger share of the live entertainment economy. When major events come to the city, the impact extends beyond the venue. They support tourism, hospitality, transport, retail and the local services that benefit from stronger visitor inflow,” said SM Prime President Jeffrey Lim.Lim highlighted that the project caters to a post-pandemic surge in consumer demand for live experiences, particularly among younger audiences.To support the expansion, SM Prime recently partnered with Ticketmaster to launch SM Ticketmaster, upgrading its ticketing infrastructure. Located in South Road Properties, the arena features advanced visual technology and integrates directly with SM Seaside City Cebu, alongside planned convention and hotel facilities aimed at creating an all-in-one lifestyle district.SM Seaside Cebu Arena recently hosted the concert of P-pop superstars BINI.
