Diesel prices is forecast to increase by P6 to P6.85 per liter, gasoline prices at P1.20 to P1.40 per liter, and kerosene prices by P3.50 to P3.70 per liter. <em>Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA &mdash; Oil and gasoline prices are going up as July ends.</p><p>The Department of Energy (DOE) said oil prices may go up by the following amounts on Tuesday, July 28:</p><p>&bull; Diesel - P7.32/L<br>&bull; Gasoline - P6.80/L<br>&bull; Kerosene - P4.22/L</p><p>An oil company last week said oil prices have soared because of fears of further disruption of oil supply, as the Strait of Hormuz remains closed.</p><p>DOE Director Rino Abad said the government will not ask oil firms to stagger the hefty price spikes, unlike last week, when petroleum firms agreed to the DOE&#39;s request.&nbsp;</p><div><strong>5th in a row?</strong></div><p>This is already the fifth straight week that oil prices have gone up due to tensions in the Middle East. Iran and the US have been trading retaliatory attacks against each other, pushing oil prices up.</p><p>Since June 30, fuel prices have been going up:&nbsp;</p><div><strong>Total increase in 5 weeks (June 30-July 28, 2026) </strong></div><p style="line-height: 1;">Diesel - P26.64/L increase</p><p style="line-height: 1;">Gasolina - P13.30/L increase</p><p style="line-height: 1;">Kerosene - P21.07/L increase</p><div><strong>Diesel at P100 per liter again?</strong></div><p>Abad admitted that if prices in the world market continue to go up this week at the same pace as in the last weeks, it is possible that the regular diesel will reach the P100/liter mark.</p><p>Some high-end diesel products are now at P93/liter, which means it will be over P100/liter this week with the P7.30/liter increase.</p><div><strong>Fuel discount</strong></div><p>The DOE is also amenable to raising the diesel discount on jeepneys and UV Express from the current P10 to P15 per liter.</p><p>But Abad is quick to qualify that the final decision will come from the Department of Transportation, depending on fund availability.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2026/7/27/iran-says-halts-middle-east-attacks-as-us-holds-fire-0011" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Iran says halts Middle East attacks as US holds fire</a></div>
