<p>MANILA — The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) said its net income reached P94.7 billion in the first half of the year, up 27.78 percent from last year&#x27;s numbers.</p><p>Gross income, meanwhile, hit P195.38 billion, higher by 15.03 percent from the P169.9 billion in the first half of 2025.</p><p>Of every peso the agency spent in the first half of the year, 94 centavos went directly to claims and benefits for members, pensioners, and their dependents, the GSIS said.</p><p>The agency said it has released nearly P18.3 billion under the Balik Ginhawa program, which refunds up to 6 months of loan amortizations for members.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/4/10/gsis-p6-6-billion-refunds-given-under-balik-ginhawa-1635" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">GSIS: More than 453,000 borrowers receive P6.56 billion refunds under Balik Ginhawa</a></div><p>GSIS also said it has given P7.3 billion under its <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/4/22/gsis-lets-members-borrow-to-install-home-solar-panels-1910" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">solar loan program</a>, which helps members buy solar energy systems for their homes.</p><p>Meanwhile, it has also loaned more than P1.7 billion under its bike and e-mobility loan program. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/5/4/gsis-offers-loans-for-e-bike-e-scooter-purchase-1022" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">GSIS offers loans for e-bike, e-scooter purchase</a></div><p>“What is the use of higher net income if we have not improved the lives of government workers and retirees?” said GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso. “Numbers on the income statement mean nothing until they become...claims released without delay, or financial assistance a family can actually use,&quot; he said.</p><p>The pension fund&#x27;s total assets stood at P2.05 trillion at the end of June, higher than the P1.98 trillion at the end of 2025.</p>
