MANILA – Tech giant Google on Wednesday unveiled a suite of AI-powered shopping tools aimed at capturing Southeast Asia’s booming video commerce market, piloting new features to turn viewer engagement into direct sales.  The company recently launched tools, including the &quot;Commerce Media Suite,&quot; designed to let brands route high-intent shoppers from a YouTube advertisement straight to a marketplace checkout page. The feature is currently being piloted with regional e-commerce giant Shopee.  Google is leaning heavily into the region&#x27;s creator economy, where video commerce skyrocketed fivefold between 2022 and 2025 to command a quarter of Southeast Asia’s total e-commerce gross merchandise value.  &quot;AI is transforming how people explore and shop across our region,&quot; said Sapna Chadha, Google’s Vice President for Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier. &quot;We are doubling down on this shift in Search while turbocharging the power of YouTube creators to partner with businesses,&quot; Chadha added.  Other tools rolled out include &quot;Affiliate Partnerships Boost&quot;—a global first pilot on YouTube allowing marketplaces to boost creator-tagged affiliate content as paid ads—and the expansion of its &quot;YouTube Creator Partnerships&quot; platform to the Philippines.  The tech firm cited internal data showing high consumer trust in YouTube creators, noting that total payouts to creators via its shopping affiliate program jumped over 105 percent year-over-year. Early testing of the new checkout integration by cosmetics brand Maybelline yielded a 7.4 percent incremental revenue lift, Google said.
