Pag-IBIG books P41.35 billion net income in first half, up 24 percent

MANILA — Pag-IBIG Fund said it posted a record-breaking net income of P41.35 billion in the first half of 2026, marking a 24 percent increase from the same period last year.The state-run housing fund said the growth was driven by robust loan portfolios, disciplined cost management, and higher investment yields.Gross income for the January-to-June period rose 19 percent to P52.98 billion. Total assets also expanded by over 6 percent from the end of 2025, reaching P1.32 trillion by June 30. Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta noted that investment income—derived from bonds, preferred shares, and time deposits—soared 47 percent to P6.85 billion.Acosta emphasized that these robust financial results directly benefit contributors. Because a substantial portion of the agency’s annual net income is returned to members as dividends, the stronger earnings mean higher yields for their savings.Remarkably, the income surge occurred even as the agency lowered housing loan rates and increased its maximum loanable amount to P10 million. Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary and Pag-IBIG Board Chair Jose Ramon Aliling stated that this financial strength empowers the agency to aggressively support President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (Expanded 4PH) Program.“Our financial strength enables us to open more doors to homeownership and help Filipino workers fulfill their dream of having a home of their own, while prudently managing and growing the savings entrusted to us,” Aliling said.Capping its strong first-half performance, Pag-IBIG recently secured its 14th consecutive unmodified opinion from the Commission on Audit for its 2025 financial statements, validating the agency&#x27;s continued financial integrity.
