Agriculture spokesperson Arnel de Mesa said ricefields were the most affected.&quot;Pinakamalaki dito ay yung sa ating palayan at P143 million. Sinusundan ng ating mga gulayan at iba pang high-value crops na nasa P30 million, at yung nasira sa irrigation facilities ay nasa P15.8 million,&quot; de Mesa said.De Mesa said more than 6,000 hectares of rice fields were damaged.&quot;May chance pa po ng recovery since 976 hectares lang yung totally damaged kaya maliit lang ito na bahagi ng kabuuang harvest,&quot; he added.De Mesa said this is expected to have a minimal effect on rice production for this year, with only a loss of 4,500 metric tons.The average annual rice production is 20 million metric tons.With this, De Mesa says there is no expected price spike in rice, but a minimal price increase may be expected for vegetables.The spokesperson said DA&#x27;s regional offices have prepositioned seedlings to help farmers who have been affected by the bad weather.He added that under their rehabilitation system, the priority will be repairing the damaged irrigation facilities.
