SM Warehouses expands e-commerce footprint with new Pasig facility for Shopee partners

MANILA — SM Warehouses, a unit of SM Prime Holdings, Inc., has expanded its e-commerce logistics footprint to over 126,000 square meters following the turnover of a new 40,000-square-meter facility in Pasig City to Shopee partners.SM Prime said the newly turned-over hub expands capacity for Shopee partners SPX Express (SPX) and Scommerce Philippines, Inc. The location complements SPX’s existing multi-year lease for approximately 86,000 square meters at SM Prime’s 130,000-square-meter Silangan Warehouse complex in Laguna.“Our strengthening relationship with SPX and Scommerce reflects our commitment to supporting businesses and local MSMEs with well-located, adaptable spaces that improve efficiency and enable long-term growth,” said Alexis Ortiga, Business Unit Head of SM Prime’s Commercial Properties Group.The company said the two sites will play complementary roles in SPX’s distribution network across the country. The larger Silangan facility drives regional fulfillment and sorting operations linking Southern Luzon to the nationwide network, while the Pasig facility functions as an urban distribution hub designed to accelerate processing speeds and shorten last-mile delivery times across Metro Manila.“As e-commerce evolves, our logistics infrastructure must grow with it,” said Martin Yu, Head of SPX Express.“Our facility in Silangan, Laguna established a strong operational base. The new Mega First Mile hub in Pasig brings us closer to Metro Manila customers, allowing us to increase processing speed and reduce delivery times. SM Warehouses provides the scale and operating standards we need to serve our sellers and buyers reliably,” he added.Shopee has been allowing sellers to store their products in &#x27;Fulfilled by Shopee&#x27; warehouse facilities to speed up the delivery of orders.
