MANILA — Moody’s Ratings has affirmed the Philippines&#x27; Baa2 investment-grade credit rating with a stable outlook, the Department of Finance said on Monday.The debt watcher&#x27;s rating points to resilient macroeconomic fundamentals that continue to cushion the economy against rising global energy costs and international market volatility, the DOF said.The credit rating agency noted that the country retains strong access to domestic and international funding markets, backed by sufficient foreign-currency reserves to navigate external shocks despite a temporary slowdown in public infrastructure expenditure.&quot;We welcome the stable outlook credit-rating affirmation, even as the world deals with real headwinds,&quot; Finance Secretary Frederick Go said in a statement, adding that the assessment confirms &quot;that the reforms we&#x27;ve put in place are working.&quot;Moody’s highlighted key legislative and policy initiatives, including the CREATE MORE Act and the liberalization of renewable energy sectors, as vital structural drivers expected to spur higher direct investment and elevate productivity, the DOF said.The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas also welcomed the rating decision, emphasizing that monetary authorities remain focused on steering inflation back toward target levels, safeguarding banking system stability, and managing foreign reserves to preserve overall macroeconomic resilience.
