MANILA — The Social Security System (SSS) on Wednesday launched the TranSSSpo Caravan, Metro Manila-wide initiative aimed at bringing SSS programs and services closer to workers in the transportation sector.More than 40,000 transport workers, including around 6,180 drivers, are expected to benefit from the initiative, which provides on-site assistance at transportation terminals across the National Capital Region (NCR).The caravan offers services such as SSS membership registration, assistance with contribution-related concerns, benefit inquiries, online services, and other SSS programs.Benjamin Dolindo, acting senior vice president of the SSS NCR Operations Group, said the initiative was designed to make SSS services more accessible to transport workers whose time is often limited by their daily work.&quot;Kasi napakahalaga ng kanilang oras, dapat hindi naaabala o hindi sila naiistorbo para lang pumunta sa mga tanggapan ng SSS. It&#x27;s about time na kami po ang pupunta sa terminal. Pag nasa terminal po kami, hindi lang yung mga driver o operator, kasama na po yung mga commuter natin,&quot; Dolindo said.Jeepney driver Wilfredo Lingatong was among those who availed of the SSS TranSSSpo Caravan at a terminal in Mandaluyong to verify his SSS membership and resume his contributions.&quot;Matagal na po kasi akong di nakapaghulog 90s pa yung trabahonko sa kumpanya, ngayon nagmaneho na ako ng jeep. JC Wala talagang oras kasi minsan busy sa trabaho ngayon ko lang nakita na may SSS kaya naisipan ko, pagpatuloy ko na lang SSS ko sa pagbabayad,&quot; Lingatong said.Tricycle driver Jose Ruel Grajo said the SSS caravan is helpful, especially for workers like him who sometimes struggle to keep up with their contributions because of their daily work.&quot;Dahil may service ako, hatid-sundo ng estudyante, tapos nahahatid ako sa school, kaya minsan nakakalimutan kong maghulog. Magkakaroon ka ng penalty imbis na-ise-save mo itong pera mo,&quot; Grajo said.The SSS also said it plans to bring its caravan to other sectors of the workforce in the future.
