We just have to validate these numbers of passengers to determine gross income,&quot; Mendoza said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/8/3/oil-prices-seen-declining-in-first-week-of-august-1159" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Oil prices seen declining in first week of August</a></div><p>The agency also already submitted its recommendation to Malacañang for a proposed P20-per-liter fuel subsidy.</p><p>According to LTFRB Chairman Vigor Mendoza, the proposed fuel subsidy, which would cover all PUVs for one month, would require an estimated P4.5 billion budget. </p><p>&quot;I think there will be some decisions within the week nakikita natin yung urgency ng mga to. We will press this upon our bosses na kailangan na nating magpetisyon,&quot; he said.</p><p>Mendoza said only about seven percent of the current P10 fuel subsidy budget remains, which is expected to last only until August 15. </p><p>He added that the agency is also studying several options depending on the mode of transport.</p><p>&quot;Pero nakikita natin maybe it&#x27;s not just a one-solution-fits-all. Puwede yung tulong sa jeepney and motorcycle taxi, iba sa bus. Meron kaming options whether it&#x27;s a straightforward fuel subsidy na ibibigay sa lahat or mixture of fare increase or fuel subsidy depende sa mode of service,&quot; he said.</p><p>Aside from fuel assistance and fare adjustments, the LTFRB is also scheduled to meet with banks to discuss loan payment concerns affecting PUV operators.</p>
