MANILA -- The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said it has approved the initial public offering (IPO) of GCash parent firm Mynt at the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/6/17/gcash-parent-mynt-moves-to-file-for-ipo-at-pse-1326" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">GCash parent Mynt moves to file for IPO at PSE</a></div>The IPO is valued at up to P92.32 billion.In a statement, the securities regulator said the SEC en banc resolved to render effective the company&#39;s registration statement covering the registration of up to 66.9 billion common shares.The SEC said Mynt will offer up to 1.61 billion common shares as part of the primary offer, while selling shareholders can sell up to 6.42 billion shares.&nbsp;The shares will be sold at up to P10 apiece.&nbsp;There is an overallotment option of up to 1.20 billion shares. Assuming this is oversubscribed, Mynt can net up to P89.25 billion from the total offer.Mynt can get around P14.95 billion in net proceeds from the primary offer. This will be used for digital financial services growth, product development, and general corporate purposes.&nbsp;The offer period runs from October 6 to 12, in time for the issuance and listing on the PSE&#39;s main board on October 20. The shares will be traded under the ticket symbol GCASH.The SEC also said it granted Mynt&#39;s request for a lower minimum initial public float of 12 percent. Under the agency&#39;s Memorandum Circular No. 11, Series of 2026, it may approve the lowering of the public float of issuers with exceptionally large expected market capitalization at the time of listing.&nbsp;Mynt&rsquo;s expected initial market capitalization upon listing is P668.96 billion, exceeding the P200 billion initial market capitalization threshold under the memo.GCash, which started as an SMS-based local money remittance service in 2004, has since grown into a fintech giant, helping businesses and customers with payments and even providing lending services. It also has savings and investment services.&nbsp;GCash saw its valuation double to <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/business/2024/8/2/ayala-ups-stake-in-gcash-parent-firm-1128" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">$5 billion</a> in 2024 after fresh investments from Ayala Corp. and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.
