MANILA -- Weight loss peptides and injections are a trend right now, especially for those who want to lose weight and manage their weight levels. But aesthetic doctor Vicki Belo warns the public not to buy or purchase these weight loss injections online. “Kahit may zoom consultation pa iyan. If it’s too good to be true and it’s cheap, it’s probably cheap and bad for your body,” said Belo. She pointed out that online weight loss peptides or injections may not be pure and may cause harm to your body.  “Pwedeng totoo, pero ang daming dinagdagan. Kung ano anong nilalagay. They might put the right peptide, but they don’t make it clean.”She added that the body might accumulate LPS or Lipopolysaccharides that could harm the body in the long run.  “Yes you will lose weight, but there are side effects and then you will feel sick in about five to ten years.”Her advice: it is best that you are guided by a doctor when you take these weight loss injections. One of the most popular right now is called Mounjaro. Belo explained that, “It’s not a new medicine, it’s been there for a long time. But it was for diabetes to control your insulin levels and they noticed that the patients were losing weight. And then they were feeling better, the pancreas are getting better and the livers are getting healthier.”She continued, “There are a lot of medicines like that, there’s one use and you discover another use. And now it’s FDA approved for losing weight.”
